In clearer terms, Is our faith centered on the promise of the Blessed
Hope—Christ actually redeeming us and taking us to Heaven in That Night,
wherein we are COMMANDED to watch? Or is it centered on martyrdom, waiting
for the dawn of the Lord’s Day at the end of a seven year Tribulation?
Clearly if the Church is here on Earth for the duration of the Tribulation,
She will suffer greatly and mostly die off.
So will the angels accompany Christ when He knocks on a closed door (Luke
12:36)? When He returns from the Wedding Feast? Will the angels also
accompany the Lord when He stands at the door in judgment (James 5:9; Rev.
3:20)? Will there be knocking at the Second Coming? Hardly!
Actually, there is a huge difference in the traditional Second Coming,
wherein all the world will only see His sign at first, compared to believers
who will see Him as He is (1 John 3:2), that is, when the Lord comes as a
thief in the night (Rev. 3:3) and not at the dawn of That Day?
And how about the saints of God? Are they with Him at the Second Coming as
clearly taught in Scripture (Duet. 33:2; Zach. 14:5; 1 Thess. 3:13, 4:14;
Jude vs. 14)? Dressed in fine clean white linen, which is the righteousness
of the saints (Rev. 19:8, 14)? Or do the angels wear the righteousness of
Again, Do the angels wear the righteousness of the saints? Or do people?
Interesting question, because if it is people, then people are with the Lord
and at the Wedding Feast right before the traditional Second Coming, and
very much a part of the Army of the Lord (Joel 2:2; Rev. 19:8, 14). By the
way, the answer is angels don’t wear the righteousness of the saints. In
sync, exegetical context dictates it is the Bride who has made herself
ready, not the angels who are holy already (Rev. 19:7-8)!!!
So when Christ is the Bright & Morning Star, or the first light after the
night at the Second Coming, the dawn of that Day, is He really saying it's
okay to be disobedient to the commands of the earlier watches of the night
(Mark 13:33-37; Rev. 3:3, 16:15)? For He won't return until the dawn of That
Day? Until the Second Coming?
By the way, Second Coming Only Theology is disobedience in action—just like
it is to teach and believe in the at-once pre-trib Rapture of the Church.
For both teachings negate the night and the Day of the Lord, which comes
just as Christ does, as a thief in the night. And that clearly is not the
dawning of That Day!
Now Second Coming Theology denies the rightful beginning of the Lord’s Day
prior night, when the antichrist and the Great Apostasy is revealed to the
Church (2 Thess. 2:2-3). Conversely, Second Coming Only Theology places the
beginning of the Lord’s Day deep into the Tribulation Night at the
appearance of cosmic signs. This is great error (the opening of the sixth
In sum, Second
Coming Theology is a false theology that nullifies the Blessed Hope; it
denies the Woman clothed with the sun, or Bride which is in Heaven. It
denies the Open Door to Philadelphia; it denies that the faithful of
Thyatira will escape the Great Tribulation, whereas the unfaithful of
Thyatira won’t; it denies the fact that Ephesus is in danger of having her
candlestick removed (which is to have her rightful place of salvation put on
hold); it denies the fact that Smyrna represents Tribulation converts after
the Church is redeemed (In ancient times, a king would leave myrrh on the
doorstep of His unresponsive but prospective bride, reminding her that He
had called during the night—myrrh is the meaning of Smyrna’s name.)
Second Coming Only
Theology denies the fact that Laodicea must open her door upon Christ
standing in judgment and knocking on her closed door (Christ is prophesied
in both Testaments to sit by His Father until all enemies are made his
footstool.). Or Laodicea will be spit out of the mouth of Christ and lose
her salvation (If so, she will no longer be in the Lord’s mouth to confess
her to the Father.); it denies the fact that Sardis is to watch in That
Night, or have Christ come upon her as a thief—and if Sardis still doesn’t
repent, or refuses to watch, her name will eventually be removed from the
Book of Life; it denies the fact that Pergamos is to repent or be left
behind and face a two edged sword protruding from the mouth of Christ at the
Second Coming. In sum, Second Coming Only Theology denies Christ’s
Bridegroom Comings, the Open and Closed Door Returns, to fetch His Bride as
a surprise in That Night.
Coming Only Theology denies the Manna—the Bread of Life, who is Christ
Himself appearing in the night before the Morning, or the dawning of the
When the Son of man
cometh, will He find faith on the Earth? Or will the entire Church be wiped
out in the martyrdom of the seven year Tribulation?
Will the Son of man
catch many SLEEPING at the end of a devastating seven year Tribulation at
the dawn of That Day? Or in the much earlier watches of the night (Mark
Can the “hour you
think not” (Matt. 24:44) be a surprise at the end of a horrendous seven year
Tribulation? Or is the surprise of Christ’s coming much sooner than that?
Is midnight the
dawn of That Day, as Second Coming Only Theology proponents would have us
believe? Or is it much earlier in the night?
Are there those who
teach “the Lord delayeth His coming,” just as the Bible foretells? Or is
Second Coming Only Theology true?
Does the actual
presence of the Great Multitude in Heaven, long before the opening of the
seventh seal, fly in the face of Second Coming Only Theology?
Two shall be
grinding at the mill, the one shall be taken, and the other left. . . . If
the good saints are the ones left behind (This is a Second Coming Only
Teaching mistakenly based on Matthew 13:30.), are they working for a living
right before the Second Advent at the end of the Tribulation? Will good
saints receive the mark of the Beast (Rev. 13:17)?
In the Great
Tribulation, why does an angel preach the everlasting gospel (Rev. 14:6)?
Where is the Church? Second Coming Only Theology?
Behold, I come
quickly”; almost twenty centuries later, surely the Lord will. But how can
Christ’s Quick Coming possibly fit Second Coming Only Theology wherein only
the sign of the Son of man is beheld at first (Matt. 24:30)?
The first shall be
last, and the last first. Since this verse is always given in the strict
context of literally reaping eternal life (Matt. 19:30; Mark 10:31; Luke
13:30), how can it possibly fit the At-Once Rapture Teaching? Or Second
Coming Only Theology?
But go you rather
to them that sell, and buy for yourselves” (Matt. 25:9)? After the so-called
at-once Rapture, who will be left behind to go to them that sell? To go to
the Father, Son and Holy Spirit? After the traditional Second Coming, who
will be left behind to go to them that sell? Moreover, if the foolish were
lost, why would the wise intentionally lie to them, imparting hope? Is that
a Christian thing to do?
Only a few in
Sardis will walk with Christ in white. Can only a few be descriptive of an
at-once pre-trib Rapture of the entire Church? Descriptive of Second Coming
In all of this, the
night-trib position is correct—watch therefore in that Night—the
Tribulation, just as we are commanded (Mark 13:33:37; Rev. 3:3, 16:15)!
